The first bullets were made of pretty much anything such as rocks, wood and metal. However, as more time went on and firearms progressed, so did bullets. Bullets needed to become more dense if they were to retain their velocity and impact. Lead was the next product in terms of solid bullets due to its density and how cheap the product was. Lead was initially created into small spheres and loaded into firearms, however, it was discovered that shape greatly made a difference. This is when the shape was changed, and grooves added, so as to improve accuracy and speed. All solid bullets were made of pure lead, however in modern-day there are three different types of categories: solid lead-alloy bullets, solid non-lead bullets, and non-deforming solid bullets.
Solid Lead-Alloy Bullets

Solid Non-Lead Bullets
Solid non-lead bullets are especially powerful due to their ability to penetrate and expand, or penetrate and not expand. For example, the TS-X bullet always expands and retains almost all its weight, making for a powerful bullet. Bullets such as these are useful for killing game.
Non-Deforming Solid Bullets:
Non-Deforming Solid Bullets are the ones with which gun owners associate with when they think of “solid bullets”. They are most known as solids due to the fact that they do not expand no matter what they are shot into. Most of these solids bullets are made of a zinc or copper alloy.
Solid bullet live on in its original lead projectiles of the early days, plus today’s new bullets which are designed to expand when shot, while some are not.
